AI documentary generator
From a topic to a finished documentary.
Wick & Reel is an AI documentary maker for faceless YouTube channels. Give it a subject; it researches and writes the script, performs the narration, storyboards every shot, animates the key moments, scores the sound, and hands you a 1080p film with captions and chapters. You approve the script and storyboard by email before anything renders. During early access we run the software for you, so there is no dashboard to learn.
What makes it a documentary, not a slideshow
Most "AI video generators" turn a script into one stock clip or one AI image per sentence with a slow zoom. That is exactly the "templated, minimal narrative" pattern YouTube's monetization policy warns about (our guide to the rules). Wick & Reel is built the way a documentary is made:
- A story, not a list of facts. The software weighs several angles on a topic and picks the one with a protagonist, stakes and a reversal, then writes a chaptered script with a cold open built to hold the first minute.
- Checked facts. A second model fact-checks every script. Names, dates and claims are checked again after each rewrite.
- A performed narration. A voice director marks pauses and emphasis and keeps one narrator across every chapter and every episode of your channel.
- A director's shot list. One visual treatment for the whole film (palette, light, motifs, character references), then wide, medium and close coverage for each scene.
- Motion where it matters. The cold open is fully animated, a motion shot comes about every 45 seconds, and the stills in between move with depth parallax and light.
- Original sound. Score, ambience and effects generated for the film, mixed under the narration to YouTube loudness. Our sample films passed YouTube's copyright check on upload.
Three ways to shoot it
| Tier | Best for | Look | Credits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sleep | Sleep history, mythology, bedtime stories, 60–120 min | Composed stills, gentle movement, no sudden sounds | 0.25 per minute |
| Standard | Dark history, mysteries, true crime, biographies, 8–30 min | Animated cold open, motion every ~45 s, living stills | 1 per minute |
| Cinematic | Horror, trailers, cold opens, Shorts | Every shot in motion | 4 per minute |
Made to match your channel
Established channels have a look. Send us your channel and we study your recent videos and thumbnails (narration style, pacing, palette, chapter length, title formula) so new films sit naturally next to the old ones. If you'd rather upgrade your look, say so and we'll pitch a new one.
What you receive
- A 1080p MP4 with narration, score and sound design, no watermark
- An .srt caption file and a YouTube chapter list
- Three title options and a thumbnail in your channel's style
- Script and storyboard preview within a day; the finished film 48–72 hours after you approve it
Questions
How long can an AI documentary be?
Standard documentaries are usually 8 to 30 minutes in five or more chapters; Sleep films run 60 to 120 minutes or more. You pay by the minute in credits.
Are the facts checked?
Yes. A second model fact-checks every script before narration, and again after rewrites. Fictional stories use invented names and never real organisations. Real victims are never shown with recognisable faces.
Is it just AI images with a slow zoom?
No. See the shot list and motion above, or skip to any chapter of the sample films.
How much does it cost?
Plans start at $99 a month for 20 credits, about two 10-minute documentaries. Credits are only spent on films you approve. See all plans.
See it for your channel first. Tell us your channel and niche and we'll make the first 60 seconds of a film for it, or the whole first chapter of a sleep film, free.
